Best Places to Eat in Lake Arrowhead
Driving up into the San Bernadino mountains does not mean you’re leaving civilization and good restaurants behind! Welcome to Lake Arrowhead - the hidden gem of Southern California. Here, we’ve found so many fun adventures and activities to have as a family, great hiking and walking trails, shopping and yes… great places to eat!
So what are my top picks for best places to eat in Lake Arrowhead?
Let’s start with what I think the top breakfast places in Lake Arrowhead are. (links below are Instagram links so you can see yummy photos and what’s new)
Belgian Waffle Works - Family friendly and great food. It’s located right on the waterfront of Lake Arrowhead Village. But, go early or you’ll likely end up in a big long line on the weekends! @belgianwaffleworks
LuluBelles Bakery - This yummy bakery and coffee shop is found in Running Springs and features great seasonal eats. Definitely a must-visit when it comes to good coffee on the mountain. @lulubelles_bakery
Bulle Bakery @bullebakery
Rolls and rolls of deliciousness… there’s no other way to explain it. These sweedish style Bullar pastries are so yummy! You have to contact them in advance to order for pickup or delivery but it’s worth planning ahead! I’ve tried the cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom rolls. Message them on Instagram and they’ll get back to you with info on how to order. Tell them Terri sent you!
Higher Grounds Coffee House - Serving breakfast and lunch (and coffee, of course!) every day of the week in Crestline. @hgcoffeehouse
Lou Eddie’s Pizza - This is my favorite pizza… not just on the mountain, but anywhere! A thinner crust with amazing toppings and if you go there to eat they have a great back patio in the summer with entertainment and easy-flowing brews on tap. But, if you want to pick up a pizza that night call about 11 am that morning! It’s close too, just up the road in Sky Forest. @loueddiespizza
Lake Front Tap Room - Situated right on Lake Arrowhead in the Village it’s easy to find and one of my top picks for a quick bite with a beer and a view! Super kid friendly. @thelakefronttaproom
Lake Arrowhead Brewing - While more brewery than eatery… it’s still a top pick as you can get food from the featured food-cart and you can buy simple snacks at the bar too. But the beer… awesome! And the back beer garden is amazing too : Lots of games, sometimes music, other events and these awesome see-thru igloo-looking domes to hang out in! @lakearrowheadbrewing
Cedar Glen Malt Shop - This is a little gem. Hidden up in Cedar Glen you can get a great burger, fries, and proper milkshake (or sundae) with some nostalgic flair. Take the family and choose from their huge burger menu! @cedarglenmaltshop
Puglia Italian Restaurant - My go-to for nicer dinners or occasions, this is where we celebrated my 40th birthday and it was perfection. Fantastic, authentic Italian foods and wine found in Blue Jay. @pugliaitalianrestaurant
Jetties Waterfront Kitchen - This place is cute, fun and nostalgic! And it’s also right on the water in Lake Arrowhead Village with lots and lots of windows so you’re sure to get a good seat. My personal fav? The ice-cream sandwich! @jettiesarrowhead
Rippin Bowls - This is such a welcome addition to the village! And me? I’m a fan!! I’ve eaten Acai bowls here twice now, and it was fabulous! My kiddos loved it too. They serve both Poke Bowls and Acai Bowls, some with ready-to-go recipes, and also the option to make your own. Don’t wait… go to this place pronto! @rippin.bowls
Stone Creek Bistro - This family owned restaurant in Blue Jay is a wonderful addition to your Lake Arrowhead stay. We went not too long ago and had a beautiful meal and bottle of wine. The food was so delicious and I’ve recommended it to other guests and friends. You’ll enjoy wonderful food that is locally sourced. The menu is described as “Southern American comfort food and traditional French bistro cusisine”. @stonecreekbistro
The Grill at Antler’s Inn - This restaurant is located inside the Antler’s Inn & Resort in Twin Peaks. It has a mountain chic flair and the “American-style” food is some of the best on the entire mountain. Great choice for a date night, and while I haven’t had it personally, I’ve heard the bread pudding is wonderful! @thegrillatantlers
Dogwood Tavern - Open late (till 2 am) and ready for a good time, this bar in Blue Jay has pool tables, good cocktails, beer and karaoke! Bring your party pants and dancing shoes… but know it’s adult fun only, no kiddos. @dogwood_tavern
Papagayos Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - Known as the best margarita on the mountain, this Mexican restaurant (opened in 1983) is a casual stop in Lake Arrowhead Village known for fun times with a great patio overlooking the lake. @papagayos83
Little Bear Bottle Shop - While not an eatery… I’m including this cute lil shop in Sky Forest on the list because it has some very unique and special bottles (of everything from wine and whiskey to beer and specialty bottles I don’t even know about yet). If it’s new and good… it’s here! Check it out. @littlebearbottleshop
